Batt, Susan

I graduated in 1970 and went directly into nursing at Vanier College. I worked at the Montreal General Hospital for a few years and then in a doctor’s office before moving to Ontario in 1978. I worked for a while in private duty nursing and then decided to take my life in my hands and started working at the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre in 1983 where I met my future and present husband, John.

We have three sons, Chris 24, Kevin 22 and Michael 20. We moved to the Barrie area in 1990 and have been a resident of Hillsdale ever since. I enjoy the small town and the boys grew up enjoying the small town life. Chris has since moved to Scarborough after graduating from Waterloo University and Kevin has moved to Ottawa and is trying his hand at music. He is a drummer with a band and is enjoying jamming with his friends. Michael is currently attending Nipissing University.

After being a stay at home Mom for several years I am currently working as an administrative assistant at Elmvale District High School in Student Services having decided to leave nursing behind.
