I was saddened today when I heard that Helen had died of cancer. It was less then 5 years ago that I saw Helen at the 60's Reunion at Riverdale High School. She looked so beautiful and vibrant. Helen was in the same grade as me and this loss is a reminder for me to be grateful for every day that we are alive here on earth. Brenda, we mourn with you for the loss of your dear sister. What a shock to learn about Helen. I remember her dearly. Almost every day we walked together to Riverdale, we lived on the same street. I remember her smile, she always was so happy to see me and we laughed together all the way to school. I too, am the same age and Bev, you are so right, we have to cherish everyday we are on this beautiful earth. My heart goes out to her family, they will miss her so.

I have always had great memories of Helen and her sister Brenda, they were inseparable, so it appeared, just the other day I was looking at the old year books and remembering our home room class in which Helen sat in front of me, her, with her impish grin, we had some great laughs there. To Brenda and Helen's family, my heartfelt condolences go out to you for your loss of such a special person at such an early age. I hope that you are strong for each other to get through this difficult time.
